I mentioned on the 5th of April post, that after sketching outdoors, I later like to abstract those studies and experiences. This was my focus today and I made a few quick egg tempera paintings on paper. It’s been particularly windy these past few days. The clouds have been tangled and pushed rapidly by a north easterly wind. Relatively bright though and typical for April weather. I couldn’t have painted this without being blasted by those cold winds and being immersed in the rush and drama of it all. There’s perhaps an analogy here to life speeding by. It seems to be exponential when you reach a certain age.
