So enthused was I by those rocks decorated with lichen and reading about their life-cycles and fruiting bodies, that I had to put something visual on paper. I took a number of leads from what I’d seen and read. Densely packed, fruiting bodies and pops of colour was enough to light the spark. This is a series* I’ve been adding to for a number of years. It’s possibly the most satisfying and rewarding. I’m not sure why but believe it may be the making of something structured that also looks precarious. I prefer to paint from imagination too, so this series ticks all the boxes. Series: Abstract Forms
