Spent the day in a mask as using Cobalt Blue and Raw Umber for today's egg tempera paintings. Both are toxic pigments but once in the medium and on the painting are safe. It's the dusty pigment that's dangerous. It's been raining all day. I made a series of paintings and cropped in to find a favoured composition. Although I've been looking at Turner's work, this puts me in mind of Milton Avery in its simple forms and composition. Paper was quite saturated before starting. This gives a soft diffused outcome. Very happy with this piece. Added a tiny amount of yellow ochre to cobalt blue for the tinge of green.
