Sea Buckthorn growing on the banks of the River Lune. The Berries are edible and packed with vitamin C. The tree though has a super defence - huge thorns. Birds love the berries and apparently at this time of year, get drunk on them. If the tree looks rather exotic, that's because it hails from Asia. 90% of the world's sea buckthorn grows in China, Mongolia, Russia, Northern Europe and Canada.
