Microplastics are altering DNA in fish and it can be assumed also in humans. Research shows an exponential rise in microplastics found within the human body, between 2016 and 2024. The level of microplastics found in the brains of deceased people with dementia are more than 6 times higher than those without dementia. Microplastics can be found in blood, semen, breast milk and bone marrow.
