Analogue photograph shot with a 35mm Yashica FX-3. At times the threads pull together. Having gained enough technical processing and developing skills in the darkroom, I am now able to break free and start experimenting along the lines of my usual enquiry. I made a double exposure of the rocks here (rocks being both an archive of evolution and a sarcophagus). I was thrilled with the serendipitous result. Rotated 90 degree left or right, the rocks form a spinal column, tying in nicely with the evolving forms series. Now I'll be able to experiment further with double rock exposures, indeed with lichens, shells, seaweeds etc. I'm interested and horrified by microplastics and their effects on the foodchain, believing that this artificial ingestion will create mutations. I'll experiment further with imagery while trying to maintain a free path for the subconscious, which is more powerful and knowing than the conscious and limited part of my brain.
