Evolving Forms in egg tempera, 29.7 x 42cm. The latest research (stated in Scientific American, May 20th) indicates that in DNA studies our species has undergone profound biological adaptation in its recent evolutionary past. Although the evolutionary forms I've been making over a number of years began with no intention other than a kind of subconscious tuning-in, there has been an interest in evolutionary history since university studies in the last 90's. With climate change and the infiltration of plastics and other artificial chemicals into the food chain, perhaps mutations will become exponentially rapid. On a subconscious level, something is wanting to be visualised through the brush.
