This is the particular area of Half Moon Bay I've been documenting before the winter storms. I've taken around 40 different close ups and angles so a comparison of any changes can be made next spring. I'm not sure why I feel the need to do this but I've had a deep love of rocks and stones since childhood. I find myself setting up little projects like this. Each project is enriching and life-affirming. You learn something new each day. I've been looking closely and researching the type of rock here. This is mostly sandstone which is actually a type of quartz. When you look closely you can see the trillions of tiny quartz crystals that make up the rock. Quartz is the most commonly found rock in the world. There are beautiful coral coloured veins running through some of the rocks here. I'm guessing these are quartz based too. More research and a chat with a geologist is needed!
