These encapsulated figures are 16cm. They are made quickly with a brush and egg tempera paint which I make myself from a pigment called spinel black. A particular favourite. This was until recently, the blackest black you could buy. Spinel black pigment comes from the black spinel gemstone, sometimes known as black diamond. It's such a rich pigment to work with and seems to possess a life of its own
