Sand, sea and sky at Carbis Bay, Cornwall. The sea colour is so different to Morecambe Bay. More aqua. This raises many questions, the first being 'why?' The second question is where does the Atlantic end and the Irish Sea begin. The divisions are merely unnatural ownership names given by humans. It's the same sea. It's the same sea no matter where in the world you are. I took this photograph for the beautiful patterns created on the sand as fresh water ran from the high cliff into the sea. I'm imagining the dark brown colour is actually mud washed down from the cliff which is dense with vegetation. The wonder is that It turned the beach into filigree. The word comes from Latin - filum/thread and granum/grain. Most apt for these natural shifting patterns. So wondrous was it, I could have stood there for hours.
