Fascinating visual link to the work I was doing back home before my mother’s accident. Sitting at a taverna with an open sketchbook page, these beautiful shadows were cast. It made me wonder whether some of the original Arabic designs were informed by similar shadows. What was fascinating was the way in which these circles were cast. Above my head the sun was filtering through an overhead bamboo shelter. The bamboo was in two layers. The first horizontal and the second perpendicular on top. So the cast shadows were created by only straight lines. I found this utterly compelling so will search online to find out how and why! There isn’t a day goes by when something wonderful is waiting to be discovered or to be captivated by.
