Fortunate to have been driven through the New Forest today. There were many redwoods, oaks, beech, holly and yews. Not being from this area I was also interested to see mile upon mile of gorse, so am guessing the soil is similar to that where I live on the Northwest coast. This evening’s research will be around the geology of the area.
