I shot this a few days ago walking the perimeter of the bay. I didn’t think about this image again until uploading it today. The way the subconscious plays out has been a source of fascination for years. Everything we see is stored. How often I’ve made a painting and later realised a spooky similarity to things I’ve noticed that week but not intentionally set out to recreate. We meld with the world around us, perhaps more than we know. Looking at yesterday’s painting and this photograph side by side, that becomes quite clear. Everything is translated and transformed through every individual’s unique experience. Billions of humans in perpetual computation. It’s pretty mind-blowing!
