Queen Street is narrow one-way road that barely gets any sunlight. There’s a particular spot though where the tightly packed buildings end and the sun crashes in. An elderly gentleman walking directly ahead of me turned in the direction of an adjacent street and suddenly this scene was revealed. It was as if I had walked through a stage door. The actors looked genuinely happy with smiles that seemed earthy and real. I imagined their stories and struggles. More particularly, their humour, which somehow in this brief moment of time, seemed so evident and so appealing.
