This small crop of rocks although seemingly one formation, is coloured differently. The closest section is a deep crimson. Researching local geology sites hasn't uncovered much data. A mile south, there are more red rocks that are new red sandstone (the new meaning they were laid down between 200 and 300 million years ago). So I'm guessing this small outcrop is also new red sandstone. It does appear a much deeper crimson though. I'll contact the local geology society in the hope of getting a more accurate answer
