The beach here is renewed twice a day, smoothing out the footprints and markers of human and animal presence. The process is restorative and cleansing. There are always new deposits - seaweeds and shells, sometimes jellyfish and thankfully not a great deal of plastic. It is humbling to exist here, witnessing the daily renewals, waiting with excitement for the sea to return and walking that newly laundered shore. Then there are the micro elements that often go unseen; this green algae, a cool tone against the warm skin tone of the sand, which in turn is warm against the cold steel grey sea. The daily observations lead to much thinking.
