The northwest coast is exposed to some pretty wild weather coming in from the Atlantic. It's not as directly exposed as Cornwall which has no land mass between it, Canada and the USA. We are lucky enough to have the protection of Ireland. But still, the days here are often defined by strong winds, making even a relatively mild day, feel raw. There are few walkers out and about on this side of the bay. These two women were unaware I was taking this photograph. Candid shots are always preferable. The chance encounter, the very real expressions. After this was taken we got chatting but not for long. I explained I needed to head back quickly to find a loo. They said in unison 'Tena Lady'. I said I hadn't quite reached that stage yet. We all laughed and went on our way, bracing ourselves against the harsh wind. It's not particularly evident in this photograph, but those high cirrus clouds are an indicator. You become highly attuned to nature here.
