It's all about timing: For many years I have walked this concrete apron stretching in front of the shore and bordering the nuclear power station. This particular day in sharp light and with the sun at just the right angle, I noticed the concave curve was acting like one of those mirrors that distorts the figure. It was a revelation. A moment of laughter and joy. My friend's figure was distorted to an impossible degree (she was standing upright and leaning slightly backwards). Her camera added little more intrigue. You can see how curved the camera became due to that concave wall! I will revisit this place and capture more shadow plays. I love how timing is everything here. The weather, the angle of the sun, the tide times. There's something very special about having your work dictated by the rhythms and incidences of nature
