Experimenting with glazing. Enjoying immensely the changes in tonal values. The linear aspects are in gouache and the dots only came about through impatience. I hadn't waited long enough for the surface to dry and one of the lines bled out. Not wanting to abandon the piece I was forced to resolve it by embracing the 'mistake' (there are no mistakes in painting!) and turning the frayed line into a dot. It's not what I had wanted but the key lesson is patience. The dots have made the painting look twee. It's all about learning and moving forward! Next time I'll wait for the layers to fully dry
