Life isn't all pretty pretty perfect. So much is downright disturbing. Sometimes that needs reflecting rather than countering. I've been making these double/triple drawings for many years in sketchbooks. They don't all make it onto Image a Day. I'm taking part in a writing course with Beth Kempton (author of Wabi Sabi, Calm Christmas, Freedom Seeker, We are in this Together and Kokoro). So now I am diving back into thousands of my sketchbook pages. There's so much material there and writings too. It's an exciting time to be re-engaging with words; a passion since early childhood. Painting has removed me from words for too long and somehow drawing feels closer to words than painting. I wonder why that is? Is it simply the visual effect of black and white or does working with colour take the brain into a different zone? There's so much exploring to be done!
