European Final between England and Italy and I'm working! I work part-time for the NHS so there is some consolation in that. Back to today's drawings. This Chinese rice paper is prone to blotting. There's no room for error and the regular meditation drawings inspired by the river outside my window have translated perfectly into hair. Although there can be a tension in ensuring the premeditated marks are in the correct position and there's just the right amount of ink on the brush, this tension is countered by an exquisite focus. It's a perfectly yin/yang method, which I should be mindful to employ elsewhere in my practice. This drawing in ink and brush is 70 x 50cm. Any creases on the paper are ironed out when the drawings are mounted on board, although I have yet to try the method.
