Yesterday I spent time down on the rocks at Heysham. There was a biting wind and despite a relatively bright clear sky, the sea was dark. The tricks of light are impossible to figure out. As impossible as the human mind. This is egg tempera on Hahnemühle Anniversary Edition paper, 425gsm, size 30 x 40cm. I've been thinking about working in watercolour but making my own egg tempera paints has become a ritual. It seems to fit somehow. I like the start to finish process.
